What We Do

At Carbon Legacy & Sustainability Ltd (CL&S), we help businesses and individuals build a sustainable legacy by delivering expert consultancy, carbon footprinting, and practical decarbonisation solutions. Working across sectors—from SMEs to local authorities —we support clients in measuring and managing their environmental impact. Our services include baseline footprint assessments, sustainability strategy development, energy efficiency audits, and staff training. Whether improving operational performance or meeting regulatory and funding requirements, we equip organisations with the tools and insights needed to take meaningful climate action. In addition our Carbon Offset & Reduction program for the Funeral sector is innovative & unique.

Innovation

CL&S delivers forward-thinking solutions that empower organisations to lead in sustainability. Our proprietary CL&Sify software streamlines carbon footprinting and reduction planning, aligning with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and ISO 14064-1 standards for robust and transparent reporting. Through our CL&S Carbon Charter, we drive supplier engagement and continuous improvement across value chains. We conduct in-depth energy surveys and create tailored carbon reduction plans that meet the requirements of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 and support compliance with PAS 2026, helping clients integrate sustainability into procurement, retrofit projects, and long-term strategy.

Co-founders, Jonathan & Kelly, have been involved in the energy and environmental sector for more than 30 years. Jonathan has held senior and board level positions in energy & environmental consultancies and assisted decarbonising some of the largest public and private sector organisations in the UK. Kelly has been involved in numerous roles in the energy industry but most recently sourcing environmentally friendly and carbon neutral products for online retailers.

We have been fortunate to benefit from a broad network of energy and environmental organisations helping us provide a solution to the decarbonisation of the funeral sector. We also enjoy working with a fantastic team including some amazing undergraduates from within some of the UK's leading academic institutions.
